As I balance my allergy medicine and coffee intake I do my best to get through this weeks show but struggle a bit. Unfortunately some very sad news as an elevator mechanic is struck by an elevator and killed in Florida.  It seems that there are multiple accidents in the news which involve kids and adults. In addition to these stories you'll get to hear me rant a bit on a Illinois Senate Bill extending the time that elevators are required to comply with code. Our legislators are under the impression this extension has the full support of the Illinois elevator community, which is not true. Thanks for joining us today on the show everyone, be safe out there!

Not as much news on the show today as I thought there would be. One elevator related death which involved a blind person and a non functioning door interlock apparently. I’m sure that we’ll learn more about this accident as the investigation continues. Other than news I’ll be covering the calendar of events. There are some great marketing opportunities out there and if you’re cutting your advertising or marketing dollars down because of the economy please reconsider. Thomas Jefferson once said, “The man who stops advertising to save money is like the man who stops the clock to save time!”

We're giving away $100 everyone, plus some great goodies from the companies listed below. This is our way of way of saying thanks for listening each week! I cover more international accidents on this week's show that I think I did all last year.  There are also a couple of articles specifically addressing accountability for building access and ADA.  I think we are going to see a new trend of lawsuits against cities, companies and building owners if elevators are not meeting the needs of those with disabilities.  There's also a cool picture you don't want to miss. Here's a hint, it involves a Porsche and an elevator!

Thanks to the following companies who have donated goodies to the prize pack giveaway.   Fujitec America, GAL, The National Association of Elevator Contractors, The National Association of Elevator Safety Authorities, The Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation, COMPANY SRL, Peelle, C.J. Anderson, Truxes, EMS Group, Elevator Bob's Elevator Pictures, Minnesota Elevator, Inc, The ElevatorNetwork, Elevator Gear & The Elevator Shack Forums.
