Complete website can be found over at http://www.elevatorradioshow.com Congratulations to the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation for reaching the half way point of educating 700,000 kids. Today on the show I’ll be sharing an interview with Mike Ryan, current Chairman of the Board for the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation. This interview was recorded last Tuesday. Mike explains what the EESF has been up to this past year and how we can all help. I appreciate Mike taking the time out of his busy schedule to stop in! After the interview I'll get into the show news content. There are a couple of stories worth reading. The first covers a story down in Atlanta at MARTA and is worth sharing with others in your company. While all the details have not been released a complete report is due out in 30 days that hopefully will help shed some more light on the situation. Thanks everyone for tuning in to the show today! Click Here to download ERS-2010-01-27 #190 I'm not sure if it's the cold, lack of news stories or sleep but I had fun on today's show. There were a couple of interesting stories, one that covers a new energy saving technology that Mitsubishi has developed. I wish there was more information on it and hope that a magazine like Popular Mechanics dissects the idea of it someday. What's next, elevators that can repair themselves? Sounds like a terminator movie to me. We've got a shorter show for your today. At the end of it we give away our January prize pack. Next week I'll be sharing an interview that I had with Mike Ryan, EESF Chairman which was recorded yesterday. Mike and I had fun talking about what the EESF has been up to this past year. You don't want to miss next weeks show. Have a great week everyone! Thanks to the following companies who have donated goodies to our end of the month prize pack! Today’s show reminds me of the very first show we ever did, in terms of the number of stories I found. It’s nice to have a shorter show today after last weeks technical support issues. Also on the program we’ll talk about the calendar of events which we missed last week. Also on the show was a story hitting much closer to home here in the Midwest when a worker, not clear if it was an elevator mechanic or not, fell off some scaffolding in an elevator shaft, remember to be careful out there everyone! Thanks for joining me on the program today, next week I hope there’s more to talk about.

Welcome to a new decade everyone! Shorter show as I forgot to talk about the calendar of events. I’ll talk about those next week. I hope everyone had a great extended weekend. A couple of stories that should be of interest to you; the first involving a terrible accident which left an employee dead at the Scotts Company and the second how you can market your business online a bit better. You’ll need to listen to the program to understand what I’m talking about. Be safe out there! (Pictured Right: The EESF needs our help! The half way mark is close to being reached. Wed, 23 December 2009 ![]() Visit www.elevatorradioshow.com for more content. Click Here to download ERS-2009-12-23 #185 Happy Holiday’s everyone! It’s going to be a white Christmas here in Chicago which makes it nice and festive! The next three days are going to be filled with family, food and fun….I can’t wait for Sunday to roll around when I can rest. The show today is a bit shorter than normal. There were two accidents in the news this week; one that involved a 4 year old getting caught in an escalator and the other a child too who his hand had caught in closing doors. Again, common sense not always prevails. By educating our kids out there who then take the safety information home helps in making sure these kinds of accidents are prevented in the future. Support the EESF.org today. Next week we’ve got our prize pack give away and the last show of the year and decade! (Pictured is an LCD device intended to help a person choose stairs over elevators to loose weight. Perhaps they'll make one like this for a pizza box too!) News Links: Comments[0] |
Wed, 16 December 2009 ![]() Vistit www.elevatorradioshow.com for main blog. It’s hard to believe we’re only two weeks away from finishing out 2009. Part of me is glad to see 2009 head out the door while the other part of me worries about what 2010 will bring. Good show today everyone. I was able to cut the elevator/escalator news stories down from 190 which prove there are a lot of people talking and blogging about the equipment in our industry. There were two serious accidents involving escalators. The first a Childs hand was entrapped in one and the second involved child’s boot. What should be common sense isn’t to many parents. There was another freak accident, the first I’ve read about, involving a man, his coat with belt and an elevator. That one is in bold and I’m glad that he’s going to be okay. Wed, 9 December 2009 ![]() Visit www.elevatorradioshow.com for main website! It's official, the Elevator Radio Show turns four years old today! After 183 shows and the support from all of you out there, we’re ready for many more shows to come. On the program today I’ll talk about how many downloads and a little about the demographics of our audience. Never in a million years did I ever think that this show would grow to the size it is and I’m glad that it brings useful information to you each week. Lots of stories on the program today in addition to the show recap so always, thanks for tuning in everyone! News Links: Comments[0] |
Wed, 2 December 2009 ![]() Visit our website: www.elevatorradioshow.com I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I myself spent it with family up in Wisconsin and the thought of elevators didn’t even cross my mind for a full four days. I haven’t had a getaway like that in a long time. Now back to work. Not a tone of articles on the show today but some that have some weight to them and worth saving. Also on the program today we’ll cover the calendar of events and provide an update on the EESF’s progress in reaching 700,000 children. Note that we're fast approaching the half way point in the year and we're a little short on our goal. Help us reach it by clicking here. Next week we will have surpassed a full four years of shows which is awesome, starting our fifth. I’ll give a short recap of stats, downloads, listeners etc which I haven’t been keeping track of due to time restraints. Thanks to you I keep doing what I’m doing and I’m still having a fun time doing it. So thanks for tuning in today everyone! Calendar Of Events: Listener Links: News Links: Comments[0] |
